More and more dental offices are booked months in advance and are operating with a limited staff. Dentists expect hygienists to deliver thorough cleanings but with less time allotted for each procedure. I would like to discuss ways to increase efficiency without sacrificing quality. The demands of life make it challenging to keep up with new and innovative technology. I would like to cover the latest technological advancements and products that could lead to better patient outcomes. Finally, I want to address personal health and wellness, which is essential for career longevity. In addition to exploring in-office and home yoga techniques, I would like to conduct a deep dive into anatomy, helping hygienists understand why their bodies hurt and exploring natural options to help them feel their best and perform at their highest level. After the CE webinar you can expect to offer new, highly sought-after services that help keep dental patients from escaping your practice.

This one-hour CE webinar will focus on utilizing modern technology to treat a variety of clinical scenarios. The diagnosis and treatment planning will involve facial and intra-oral scanning, digital photography, 3D printed models and CBCT. The digital avatars will be uploaded into the lab design software to help communicate hard and soft tissue position relative to the patients face, and ideal tooth position will be established. The case studies will be presented in a step-by-step process so attendees will be able to visualize the process and repeat it in their own practice.

We are 40 years since Professor Branemark introduced his research on osseointegration to the dental community. Dental Implants provide our patients with successful long-term restorative solutions for function, comfort, and aesthetics. Today, Dental Hygienists are seeing more patients with dental implants. Implant manufacturers have introduced new implant designs, surfaces, and surface chemistry that affect biocompatibility and maintenance protocols. There are concerns about what materials we use to reduce peri-implant inflammation, may negatively affect the implant surface's biocompatibility and the implant’s long-term success. This CE webinar will review dental implant component materials and design and the biological compatibility of commonly used instruments, technology, and therapeutic materials.

Alternative DME Materials Such as a Dual Cured Material to Help Raise the Box
Presenter: Dr. Patrick Calalang
Sponsor: Bisco
CE Credits: 1 CEU (Self-Study)
Deep Marginal Elevations (DME) can be very technique sensitive. Often times if the curing light cannot reach the restorative material due to sheer depth, we must come up with an alternative solution. Dual cured restorative materials have answered that puzzle. Dual cured materials are often misunderstood in the daily routine of a restorative dentist. This is mainly due to the clinician’s high comfort level with traditional light cured composite resins as their “go-to” material. During this CE webinar, I will explain the different mechanics between light cured versus dual cured materials and the role each has on stresses created and the impact on bonding. Then I will give a step by step systematic approach in using a dual cured material to obtain predictable and repeatable results when performing DME procedures. Finally, I will show clinical examples of Deep Marginal Elevations with dual cured materials and tips and tricks help obtain the desired result.

Pediatric dentistry is continuing to evolve, as is dentistry in general. The concept of total body care, or better stated, integrative dental medicine, has finally become commonly accepted. Obviously, the younger the patient is exposed to integrative oral medicine the better the future result. This CE webinar will outline the process of early childhood intervention, and then the appropriate use of more biologically kind restorative materials. It is important to realize that in every profession, there is always a group that resists change. Old habits die hard, but dentistry is now poised to be the profession for the most incredible advancement in healthcare. We now have the scientific knowledge and the biologic materials to best benefit humankind.

Most of us have started using zirconia as a material for our indirect restorations. We either mill it chairside or send it out to the lab to be fabricated. Either way we need to make sure that our technique is perfect when delivering it to the tooth, especially if we are working with a non-retentive prep. If we need to rely on adhesion, we have to understand the nuances of bonding zirconia to tooth structure. To tell us all about it is our guest Dr. Alex Vasserman. Dr Vasserman is a respected clinician running his own practice on the Upper East side of Manhattan.
